                    School Council


Our new school council for 2015-16 has been elected and they work hard to make improvements around the school. They meet regularly and have a budget to help them make a difference.


Year 3 Members: Megan, Zak & Poppy


Year 4 Members: Dawson, Seth & Oliver.


Year 5 Members: Izzy, Jacob & Charlie 


Year 6 Members: Scarlett & Josh



Latest Projects

The school coucil are currently looking at ways to improve wet playtimes by looking to order additional resources.


Previous Projects

During November our School Council audited the School Anti Bullying Policy making sure it was fit for purpose. They then took their classes through it and led a discussion whilst watching an anti bullying power point.


They met the town council in their council chambers and found out more information on how local democracy works. ( picture above)




Some of the school council have looked around our classrooms at the learning environment and soon will be visiting other schools to explore their learning environments.

Why we're here and what we do!


Our School Council helps to make sure that:


  • The school is a safe, happy and fair place to be.If you have problem you can tell them and something will be done.
  • Pupils learn problem-solving skills.
  • Pupils get to have the chance to have a say in making decisions for the school.
  • Pupils learn about voting and making sure it is fair.
  • Pupils learn about asking everyone what they think (consultation) on issues like behaviour and rules.
  • We look after our school and its grounds.
  • Pupils are involved in organising projects.
  • Pupils improve skills such as speaking, listening and debating (discussion).
  • Pupils have the chance to organise a budget.
  • Pupils are prepared for citizenship.
