3rd November 2020
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you have all had a restful half term and enjoyed the time with your families. As you know the government notified us this weekend that the country will be moving into a second lockdown as of Thursday 5th November but schools will remain open. As yet we have not received any guidance on what this means for schools, however we will be revisiting our risk assessment and adjusting it to make school as safe as possible.
Today we started a trial of moving the end of day for Y3 and Y5 to 3.15pm. In light of the government announcement we feel that it would be better to move the timings further apart to ensure that contact with groups of parents is limited. So from tomorrow can I ask that we return back to the original timings which are:
Love Lane entrance - Y4
Dunstan Road - Y6
Dunstan Road car park gate - Siblings
Love Lane entrance - Y5
Dunstan Road - Y3
Can I ask that whilst collecting and dropping off you wear a face covering and remember to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
As you can imagine the logistics of keeping everyone safe at a time like this is difficult and although we want to keep school as normal as possible we also want to minimise any risk of infection.
Over the next term we will also be holding a series of non-uniform days they are as follows:
Friday 6th November (this Friday) – Wear Red to Remember
Friday 13th November – Wear something Yellow or Spotty for Children in Need
Friday 11th December - Save The Children Christmas Jumper Day (or non-uniform if you can’t get a jumper)
As we are unable to take money at school at the moment, if you could donate to these worthy charities that would be brilliant.
Sorry to bombard you all with so much information, I will add the details to this week’s St Andrew’s Signpost also.
Thank you for all the support you are giving us at a challenging time.
