As part of our learning in English and Science lessons the children each took home a sunflower seed to grow. Below are some photos of how they are getting on. We look forward to seeing more soon. I wonder whose will get the tallest?
Acorns had the most wonderful afternoon with five dachshund puppies, a duckling and two little chicks visiting. The children behaved brilliantly and were so careful and gentle with the animals. It was amazing to see so many of them handling young animals for the first time. Artie's mum answered their questions so they found out how to care and look after them too.
Over the past month, in the spring term, Acorn class looked after five tiny caterpillars. They patiently watched as they ate and ate and ate and then magnificently made themselves a chysalis in order for the transformation to take place. They finally emerged into beautiful butterflies and were released in Mrs Denyer's garden. Amazing! This was linked to our brilliant, moving class reader 'Butterflies for Grandpa Joe.'
