We hope that you had a super Christmas break and are looking forward to the spring. Many challenges lie ahead for the children but we know you will support us and be by their side as they begin preparations for SATs. We are sure you are aware that the children are now in their Maths and English ‘booster’ classes and working hard.

Year 6 Football
On Monday 9th October our Year 6 boys participated in the Sedgemoor District Area Football Competition. In their first match they played a strong Hamp team where the result of a 2-1 defeat did not reflect how well the boys played. Joshua Ford scored an excellent team goal and was very unlucky not to add to his tally. Lucas Earthy led the team brilliantly as captain throughout with powerful runs and making quick passes to start counter attacks. Flynn Rackstraw made notable saves and distributed the ball well as he looked like an established goalkeeper. In the second game the team beat St Joseph's Bridgwater 1-0 with some remarkable saves from the opposition keeper with some brilliant defending from the strong pairing of Alfie Dawes and Tom Rickwood. Alfie also scored an unstoppable 30 yard strike which finally beat the resilient St Joseph's keeper. A massive thank you to parents for supporting the event and also to the boys who participated as they were a credit to the school!
We hope you are well rested after the summer break and are looking forward to life at St. Andrew’s. We are excited about the year ahead and getting to know your children. The aim of the next few weeks is to settle the children into the new routines and to ensure that they are happy and comfortable in their new surroundings. We believe that if children are happy, they will be able to achieve their full potential.
