Uniform

A uniform creates a sense of belonging and shows pride in our school and our commitment to a shared vision, value and ethos. It helps to promote a positive and professional work ethic and encourages a focus on learning. It promotes equality of opportunity and protects our students from social pressures to dress in a particular way. It nurtures school cohesion and promotes positive behaviour. We expect all children to wear our school uniform and we ask parents to assist us in maintaining standards in this important aspect of school life.

St Andrews’s school sweatshirts, cardigans, ties and coloured House T-Shirts are available to order from the school office. All other items are available from local shops. Please note that just because a shop sells articles of clothing/trainers in its school section, this does not make it our school uniform.

  • St Andrew’s sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo
  • White shirt or blouse
  • School tie (Autumn and Spring Terms)
  • Charcoal (Dark) grey trousers, pinafore dress, skirt, trousers, tailored shorts or culottes
  • Summer dress in blue check (Summer term)
  • Grey or white socks or grey tights

Please note that summer dresses are for the Summer term only. Ties to be worn during the Autumn and Winter terms

Other information

Black flat shoes or ankle/mid-calf flat school boots

Please no trainers or ‘fashion’ haircuts

For safety reasons jewellery is not worn at school. If your child has pierced ears then small studs may be worn. Watches may be worn at the owner’s risk.

If you are starting to gather your child’s uniform ready for the next school year, please be aware that from September, there will also be a renewed focus on fitness and using the outside space. We will be completing DPA (Daily Physical Activity) outside each day which could include the 'Daily Mile' where children walk/run for fifteen minutes each day. Therefore, when purchasing new footwear, please purchase shoes suitable and safe for running around in. In addition, more PE will be taught outside, so black tracksuit bottoms and tops/fleeces will enable children to be warm when outside. It is also essential that children have a warm and waterproof coat so that we can be outside in the rain at playtimes.
