Burnham business and town users' survey
As part of our studies of Burnham-on-Sea, we devised a survey for local businesses and members of the public. The questions were written by the children and we were looking for patterns in the public's behaviour and how Burnham businesses operate. We focussed on three areas - Victoria Street, High Street and Esplanade - with the aim of making connections between the number of people, the purpose of their visit and the number of retail, service and hospitality businesses in each area.
Year 6 paid a visit to town to find out about the human and physical features of Burnham. We visited the church, beach (learning about the sea wall and River Parrett), looked for evidence of the old railway and the legacy of George Reed and explored Burnham's street art.
